A retainer gives a business one chamber to send its routine legal work to. Each new matter is subject to a conflict check, and the work is carried out on the instructions given in that matter. No outcome is promised in any matter.
What a retainer can cover
Contract drafting and review
Drafting, review and negotiation notes on commercial agreements, vendor and customer contracts, leases and employment documents.
Legal notices and replies
Drafting and sending legal notices, and replies to notices received by the business.
Recovery
Notices, Section 138 NI Act proceedings and recovery suits for outstanding dues, on instructions in each matter.
Compliance advisory
Written advice on legal questions arising in day-to-day operations, as they arise.
Litigation oversight
Keeping track of the business's pending cases, hearing dates and orders, and co-ordinating with counsel where others appear.
Priority consultations
Consultations for the business's authorised representatives, arranged ahead of ordinary bookings where the diary allows.
